Hi. I suffer from GERD and asthma and I`ve been treated asthma with acid reflux meds. I have been reading about people who were treated with beta-adrenergic bronchodilators and end up with GERD. Do I have to take my asthma meds anyway?

Hi. I have asthma and heartburn and my doctor told me to consistently take my asthma meds and to avoid exposure to asthma triggers as well. Many symptoms of GERD can be treated with a few simple steps. I eat meals 3-4 hours before going to bed. I avoid midnight snacks. My meals are always small. I wear loose belts and clothing. I have raised the head of my bed by six inches (to keep my stomach contents in the stomach). I avoid fatty foods, coffee, alcohol and chocolate. I don`t eat citrus fruits and tomatoes too. I take Zantac to relieve GERD symptoms.
