| I have a small cyst on my left labia minora. A nurse practitioner at planned parenthood told me that it was a clogged sebaceous gland. It's about a quarter inch in diameter and has a tiny head, but it's made the entire left inner labia swell up to twice the size of the right one. It wasn't really painful, just uncomfortable, and when I had the pap smear done that same day and a yeast infection check, she also found I had a yeast infection I didn't even know I had. I noticed a lot of posts talk about itch, and trust me, I've been so itchy it's embarrassing. I don't know if the itchiness has to do anything with the cyst. My guess is that it doesn't, so for those of you having itchiness, you should get checked for a yeast infection (I didn't have any symptoms other than the itch). She gave me an oral antibiotic but I've been delaying taking it because it's really not a systemic infection and I don't like taking ABs for everything. I put some neosporin on it and hot compresses like she said, but it's not getting better after almost 3 days. I'm about to try the tea tree oil, although I am skeptical. This is my first one and I do not want it to recurr. Please post with any other suggestions for treating these. I would like to know if anybody has found any effective and quick way of getting rid of it. Thanks. |
