Unfortuntely, so far, no one has responded to this query. However, the manipulation under anthesia procedure was conducted today and was uneventful. It lasted for about 15 minutes, I am told. I complained of severe pain and was given an injection for pain. Fell asleep for 4 hours and woke up very rested and able to move my affected hand. Went straightway to the physiotherapist where an appointment was booked in advance, and was able to do my stretches reaching to the sky without discomfort. Also, the manual pulley like device that helps to stretch one hand at a time was used without difficulty. Now, 11 hours after the procedure, am starting to feel very slight sensation of pain in the shoulder, not necessitating any analgesics. thus far, so good. For the benefit of those who may have the same need for information as I did, shall give a further posting in the days ahead. LNV>

continuing my report post procedure with MUA. From Day 3, the pain in shoulder area returned. Have been doing physiotheraphy daily to keep movement and that seems to help.On Day 5, for the first time is many months, ventured to swim in a pool -and was surprised that my hand could actually make the over the top motion without pain. Feel this gives better exercise than the stretching equipment used in physio therapy with a pulley and cord, which is single directional.

The feeling of having restored motion and rotation is tremendous -but clearly exercise will be needed to gain the 5% rotation that is still painful.

the key factor I would say was the confidence gained from the consultant doctor who performed the procedure is explaining how it is actually to be done with care and regard to avoid potential adverse results, that have been known to occur as well.
