Oh my! I feel bad for whoever has hyeremesis. I had it with both of my children--not fun. I lost over 30-40 lbs. in the first 4-6 weeks of my pregnancy--vomiting. The reason for this is extremely high hormone levels in the mother. Honestly, be very greatful because the higher the hormone level of the mother the healthier the baby is. Sounds strange, I know, but it what 3 (very seasoned) doctors in my group told me. And they were right. I had two very healthy babies. One was 8 lbs. and the other baby was 8 lbs. 6 oz. Now they are 11 & 14 year old boys, very healthy and active. Unfortunately for me, I had to be so sick. In the end, two little miracles came to me one at a time. The doctor said the second go round was a 50/50 chance of being that sick with the second child and of course, I was that sick again. It started at 6 weeks 5 days and lasted until the 23rd week with the first child and until the 21st week with the second child. I still wouldn't trade it for the world. I appreciate my children so much! = ) However, I stopped with two. No more for me. = ) Good luck to anyone going through this. I really feel for you. Just remember that each sick day that passes by, that it is one less day of it left and that you are creating a little person. Soon you'll be a new mom.
