When children have problems urinating it is probably due to dehydration. Dehydration occurs when they don’t drink enough water, or after suffering from diarrhea or vomiting. If dehydration is not the case, you should take him to a doctor to determine what the cause of this inability is. It wouldn’t be good if the urine accumulated in his bladder.

Problems urinating could be caused by an injury, infection, it could be caused by a certain medicine or even structural deformity of the urinary tract.

Considering his nodes are swollen and tender, I suppose there could be an infection but you need a doc to determine what kind.
