Hi, my friend suspects that she has tuberculosis, but I believe she made it all up, to make people pay attention to her. What is tuberculosis and how does it manifests?

Tuberculosis is a severe disease caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It affects lungs or other parts of the body, and if not treated could have fatal consequences. The germ causing tuberculosis exists everywhere around us especially at public places like buses, tubes...It can be spread by coughs, sneezes or speaking. In most cases, infected persons defense system controls the germs. So, these germs are alive but for years staying inactive. The person is "infected", but without manifesting symptoms. These people don’t even know they are infected, unless a special skin test is conducted. If this test shows positive results for your friend, it means she’s effected, but she is in good health, she will probably not get sick at all.
