Hi, I am 36 years old and I will bear my baby next month. I would like to get information about vaccine against tuberculosis. I have heard that this vaccine is great protection from this severe disease but there are some countries which are vaccinating children soon after they are born while the other don’t do it. I am interested why is that so?
Hi, BCG vaccine or bacile Calmette – Guerin is vaccine which was great weapon in the struggle against tuberculosis. Some countries are vaccinating their children several days after they are born while the other do not do it because there is so little chance to get tuberculosis there that they think there is no reason for it. Persons who are contraindicated for this vaccine are pregnant women and patient under immunosuppressive therapy.
