I could sincerely understand the person that said she was afraid of being in an emergency, in case they killed her because she had fibromyalgia having recently had the experience. I was afraid they were going to let me die. I couldn't believe the treatment I received on admittance to the hospital having a suspected heart attack, the doctors and nurses were fantastic and then they read my file from that point on they treated me like a leper. It was the worse experience of my life. I thought they would let me die.

I was admitted to hospital after having been awoken at 3am with severe chest pain and difficulty in breathing. By morning the doctors not being able to find the cause of this pain diagnosed it as my fibromyalgia and looked at me as I was a mad woman making it all up in my head.

The treatment I have received since I was diagnosed with this illness has left me with a fear of doctors and hospitals. I told the doctor at the hospital just because he couldn't find what it was didn't mean it wasn't there. That made him angry and he basically kicked me out of hospital still in severe pain. Lucky for me I still had pain killers from my doctor or I would have been a real mess.

As it turned out I told my family doctor what happened and the symptoms I had, along with some other vital information (all of which I gave to the hospital doctors) and she diagnosed me as having osphagus muscle spasm enough to cause the same symptoms as a heart attack. Due to no treatment for three years other than anti-depressants and pain killers my muscles have progressed from severe pain to major inflammation to muscle spasms of the scary kind. The muscle spasms were not diagnosed until after this incident.

I have since begun anti - inflammatories and magnesium pills which in one week have begun to clear up some of the pain.

Now I have been reading some articles on my illnesses which are many due to lack of treatment. I found it amazing and helpful that other people were being treated by doctors as I have been and it has made me really sad that we are being treated this way to the point we now fear for our lives.

My question is a few months ago I was diagnosed as having a (I don't know what they call it) but it is cartlige in the bone marrow of the ball of my right shoulder bone. The doctors at the hospital looked at my mri and told me that I have a tumor but it is benign. They came to this conclusion just upon looking at the mri. The specialist came in to see me and said (after reading my file) that the mri was all good and I could go home now. In actual fact he made me feel like I was making it all up and it was all in my head. When I asked about the pain he got a doctor to put a needle of local anaesthetic between my shoulder bone and my right arm bone and within seconds said the pain is tendonitis. I am about to have a test done to rule this out but no matter what happens I don't want to go back to that hospital or any hospital for that matter. I don't know what to do.
