tvt surgery

I'm scheduled for tvt surgery next month. After reading several forums on the subject, I am scared to death!
Has anyone had a good experience???
My ob/gyn is performing the surgery and has performed many in the past. He doesn't seem very worried.
I trust him completely, but then again. . .

Will I ever be able to lift any kind of weight at all????

Also, how does the surgery affect your sex life?
(my husband is really interested. lol)

I had tvt surgery in November 2006 and have not looked back since. It was the best decision I every made and I only wonder why I waited so many years to have it done. I was 59 at the time, and had no pain at all from day one. I was not impressed with the catheter, but that only lasted 48 hours...not painful, just uncomfortable. My Doctor advised against intercourse for approx. 4 weeks and no heavy lifting for approx. the same time. I live alone and was more than able enough to take care of myself.
Don't be afraid at all about it. It has literally given me back my life. I had it done on a Friday and was back to work on Wednesday. No real down time involved and I mean it when I say that it was painless. I had a spinal and was awake during it. Best way to go....

I too am scheduled for tvt surgery on July 14th. Ozziesmama, thank you for your reply. It calmed me alot.

Booboosmama, how was your experience? My husband and I are also wondering how this will change (or better) our sex life. I know it's a very personal subject but it would help to know.
