Food that contains lactose, fructose and sorbitol may cause problems with absorption. Lactose is ingredient of many common foods, like whey, curds, and milk by-products. It’s also used as base in many medications. Fructose is found in prunes, figs, grapes and pears. Symptoms of abdominal bloating and cramps may indicate intolerance to food or food additives.
