It could be adrenal fatigue. It's difficult to be detected:

I've had a lot of these same symptoms, especially the dizziness. I feel like I'm rocking on a boat, and I'm exhausted all the time. I too have been to tons of doctors and no one can figure out whats wrong. The only thing I've noticed is that my smyptoms get worse when I drink coffee. Black tea isn't so bad, but I would recommend eliminating coffee from your diet.

If you haven't yet tried Sudafed, give it a shot. I don't mean the "new" Sudafed -- get the original pseudoephedrine formula, which you might have to ask for at the pharmacy counter.

It helps with chronic sinus and/or inner ear problems (by the way, you don't have to have a stuffy nose to be suffering from a sinus problem). I've had most of the symptoms described in this thread for many years now, and Sudafed (or generic pseudoephedrine) and Advil (or any pain reliever) is the only thing that helps.

I'm fairly small, so I only take a single pill (child's dose) of Sudafed and that (along with Advil) is almost always enough to relieve my symptoms without giving me any side effects. I've been taking this combination almost daily (usually just once a day too) for years now and it almost always does the trick.

Hope you guys feel better soon Smile
Have tried everything been to doctors unlimited times, came across this site a few days ago and just purchased SUDAFED over the counter, brilliant symptons are 90% gone. Thanks for the tip !!!

I don't feel so alone now. I am 32 years old, and am having the same symptoms as the rest of you have descibed, and the doctors couldn't find anything either. I have a job, but it is only 4 hours a day. My typicalday goes like this: Wake up between 6:00-6:30, my husband brings me coffee, my computer is beside my ed, while I ma drinking coffee, I check my e-mail. Around 7:30 I am okay enough to get in the shower. By 8:30 I am out the door heading to work. I work 9:00-1:00. Come home. And I am so tired by the time I get home, that I sleep anywhere from 1 hour to 2 hours. Sometimes upon getting up, I feel worse than when I layed down. My 12 year old daughter just does not understand. My husband has gotten used to this routine, though, and does not say much. I feel like I have zero energy. Am tired lmost all the time, and the dizziness comes and goes. I am also battling the depression-without any medication. I hope someone can hep.

PostPosted: 05/27/08 - 00:59    Post subject: Extreme Fatigue, Constant Cloudy Head, no energy Vote now! Reply with quote

Finding all of your postings both relieves me (finally I've found people who can relate to what I'm going through) and frustrates/depresses me to the point of tears (nobody seems to have answers - no diagnosis, no cure).

I'm a 35 year old female and have been dealing with many of the same issues for years. I've been for various tests over the years, but have not had any luck. My symptoms, like many of you, include:

-Extreme Fatigue - I feel tired all day long, regardless of the amount of sleep I get. napping does not help. My whole body feels drained, like gravity is pulling me down ten times more than usual. I wake up groggy, finally become alert, but then want to go back to bed after about an hour of waking up.

-Cloudy Head - I can't think, I can't follow conversations, i can't find the right words, I can't remember things (conversations I've had, emails I've written or received etc.) i can't focus, I am extremely unproductive, I FEEL STUPID. Feel like I'm watching the world, and not a part of it. Feel disconnected

-Mild dizziness/loss of balance, sometimes my head feels like it's ever so slightly swaying back and forth

-Constant buzzing in ears - the sound is hard to describe, kind of like electrical current. I can hear it now, but it is especially noticeable at night of course, and sometimes it causes me to lose sleep. Very annoying.

-ears feel like they are plugged and I can't pop them; feels like I have a loss of hearing too. Also sensitivity to sound - normal sounds sometimes become too loud and annoying (e.g. have to move the phone away from my ears)

-pressure around my eyes and nose. Also sore eyes that feel puffy/baggy most of the time

-mild to medium nausea

-sometimes feel fidgety and nervous; feel like I'm on drugs

-Decreased sensitivity of hands/feet - can't feel hot/cold water! Also get cuts, but never noticed getting hurt

-Neck/Head pain - stiff and sore, unbearable most of the time, and can't get relief unless I lie down or run (sitting in any position and walking don't help)

There are other symptoms, and I could go into much more detail, but i won't/can't because my stupid head is too cloudy to think. I am frustrated and starting to get depressed about feeling like this most of the year (probably about 80% of the time). When I don't feel like this I FEEL GREAT, which is sad because my "great" is probably somebody else's "normal".

I am heading to the doctor tomorrow to insist on systematically handling this very quickly. I had to back out of a trip to Paraguay this summer for a month because I'm feeling so crappy and don't think that I'll be able to teach down there. Some things that I want the doctor to do/check for are:

• MRI (e.g. for Chiari 1 Malformation)
• CAT scan
• Viral Labyrinthitis
• Hearing loss
• Meneire’s Disease
• Anxiety/Depression
• Hydrops
• M.S.
• Ankylosing spondylitis
• Adrenal Fatigue

That's a start at least. i feel as though people think I'm making this all up. That when I complain about being tired, they just don't understand how debilitating it actually is. I feel as though I might have to quit my job (College instructor - I NEED A FUNCTIONING, non-cloudy brain for that!)

I found out recently that I have pretty bad dust mite allergies, and am allergic to my cats. I have had all of the dust mite covers on my bedding for quite a while now, the cats aren't allowed in the bedroom, and I have an awesome hepa air purifier in my room. I also have been taking NasonEx for a long time. None of these things have helped my main symptoms (although I can breathe a little better at night). I have also done sinus rinses and have tried various allergy/sinus medications, which also have not helped.

My fatigue and foggy head are really disrupting my life, my ability to do things as simple as hold conversations, and have sent my self confidence down the drain. I don't want to meet new people, I don't have the energy to go out, and most days I can't fathom exercising, but will often force myself to anyway.

Thank you to everyone who has posted their frustrations and ideas. I'll keep posting my progress through my testing, although i have to admit that I am somewhat pessimistic that I'll ever find a "diagnosis" or anything to help lift the fog and give me more energy. I've had this for years, and it just isn't "going away".

It sucks when no one can diagnose you yet you experience all kinds of strange feelings and sensations . . .

I have the same problem, for almost 2 months now . . .

All began when I hit my head on a door while drunk . . . Started to get anxiety and panic attacking worrying what was wrong as I was experiencing fatigue, disorientation, lightheadedness, dizzeness, headaches, weightloss, various aches and pains, visual disturbances, ringing ears, ear ache, clogged ears - like liquid in there or something . . .

If there is anything that can go wrong with a head injury I thought I had it, from bleeding to cerebrospinal fluid leak.

I've had a record amount of local doctor appointments and been to hospital more than a few times, even went today when I noticed my nose had been bleeding a little during the night - although not all that uncommon when picking and rubbing but enough to scare me in my anxious state.

I got a CAT scan about 11 days ago from the hospital after a bunch of visits - they decided it would be cheaper . . .

So I prayed for good news, braced for bad and the Lord provided good news. My brain was healthy and normal.

My symptoms still continue and haunt me, maybe not so badly as within the first two weeks . . . I'll probs request a neurologist and make more visits and appointments as I get worked up but my outlook is positive . . . just got to keep ontop of things.

Stay positive people . . . anxiety can be a really debilitating thing.

All the best.

God bless.

I can't believe how many other like me there are. About 3 weeks ago I was diagnosed with a sinus and ear infection. I was prescribed the same anitobiotic I have been given several times before (although I hadn't had it in a couple of years). A week later I was back a the clinic with horrible stomach pain in the upper abdomen and chest pain. The dr. said that the infecrtion had gone systemic and moved into my stomach. "The antibiotics will kill that too". The VERY next day, I was at the ER as the pin had gotten worse. I had an abdominal x-ray and blood work and urine samples...all was fine - except I was extremely constipated. I sai, "I am not sure how that is possible, because I am very regular." The dr. said well...that is what it is. So he gave me some stuff to clean me out. 4 days later, I was back at the ER, with worse pain and nausea. It is making my back ache and chest ache. I was admitted for observation overnight. I had a CT Scan and an Ultrasound. The evening dr. I had seen suspected it was my gallbladder - by the dr. I saw the next day basically treated me like I was crazy. He said there is NO REASON why I should feel like this, I am perfectly fine. The nausea and dizziness is getting worse. I have had several episodes over the last 4 days where I get very hot, and feel like I am going to fall down. My breathing becomes heavy and fast, and I start to shake. I know it isn't an anxiety attack - I have had them because I have an anxiety disorder, which I have proudly recovered from! It was hard work - but something I pride myself on. I was diagonsed with Sleep Apnea a couple of months ago. Since I got the machine, I have been sleeping a lot better. And I was feeling great until all of this started. I also have a lot of tenderness on my upper right abdomen (around the rib cage) and along my obliques. It feels as though there is a lump there. My mother and mother-in law both have looked at this (they are both nurses) - and are CONVINCED that someting is really wrong. So I KNOW I am not nuts!! But I have no idea what to ask them to do. I am waiting for my internist appointment, but I am not sure that I can wait until July. Every day one or all of my symptoms get worse. I never know what to expect when I get up in the morning. My work is, of course, less than impressed by my "abuse of sick time". My supervisor is fighting for me, as he knows something is REALLY wrong. He discussed it with my husband - and has said as much. But the owner is a real jack-ass. I feel like I am at my witts end! What other things could they possibly explore????

I am a 24 year old woman and I have been feeling these symptoms too- they come and go and last only about 5 minutes or so- first I feel faint/dizzy/nauseous, then things start to look blurry, and then loss of balance/vertigo... then my ears start ringing- REALLY loud, and then the ringing fades and it's just like static in my ears- almost like a hissing- and then all sound around me starts to fade- as if i am tightly holding my ears or as if I am in a room with the door closed and the sound is in the other room. I also get headaches and muscle aches (particularly in my chest) and nauseous spells often. I wake up 3 or 4 times a night- I get hot and then cold. I don't have a fever. I get really hungry and then really full. Any ideas? I looked on web MD and after plugging my symptoms in I found a few possibilities but it seems like they are more common in adults over 40 and I'm only 24!

Hi, I am a 34 yr old female, experiencing a lot of unexplained dizziness. More like lightheadedness and unsteadiness. I've been to several doctors. Fist thought it was sinus related, now not sure. It doesn't feel the way vertigo is described, no spinning and its not worse when I lie down. Anyway, just went to a ent who specializies in hearing and balance. He suggested vestibular migranes. They last up to several weeks and can occur without headaches. Anyway, he was very good and is sending me for a full balance eval to see where my system is off. I also found this site on the web
http://www.dizziness-and-balance.com/

He said there are several options including meds and balance *PT* I have gotten to the point where even if we're never sure of the why, I just want to feel better Smile

the site is a very comprehensive listing of a ton of balance/dizziness conditions. I think the key is to stay positive and keep looking for answers. I think most ( though not all) docs want to help, but dizziness is so nonspecific and hard to diagnose. My neurologist said many people come to her for dizziness issues. It made me feel better that its so common. I found too, if I am open to what they are suggesting, they listen better. For example I have had several ask about anxiety. If that was it, I'd be OK with that, I have a family history and all that. But, the anxiety meds don't help. I'd be willing to try just about anything at this point to feel better. For the time being, I'm carrying on with my normal activities ( I have three small kids, I can't *stop*!) and trying not to get down. I do rest when I can. Lying down for me, helps me feel better.

Hang in there!
