Hi. I think I have urethritis. I feel pain while urinating and itching in my penis. Sometimes there is blood in my urine. What to do? Do my symptoms sound like I have urethritis? What tests can be performed to check it out? What are possible complications?
Hi. I had urethritis and your symptoms sound like you do have the same infection. However, you have to run through some test to check it out. The doctor will examine your abdomen, bladder area, penis and scrotum. He will also perform a digital rectal exam. Lab tests that may be done include urinalysis, tests for STDs, blood test, and C-reactive protein test. After antibiotic therapy, urethritis usually clears up without complications. Some complications include bladder, kidney, testes and prostate infection.
