urinary tract problems with protatitis

Are urinary tract problems related with protatitis? My husband has UTI symptoms, but he also complains on prostate discomfort so I suspect on prostatitis. I guess he could be having both conditions, right? I would like to hear few comments on this. We have to wait for his urologist for 3 more days…so it becomes a little problem.

I only know that infections that commonly cause urinary symptoms include Prostatitis. Prostatitis and epididymitis are urinary tract problems that are common in men. However, bladder infections, which are the most common type of UTI, and occur most often in sexually active women. Then there are kidney infections, which are less common and more serious than bladder infections.
