I have the same problems but it is sad that I've only had it with my current partner who is my fiance and whom I will be marrying this summer. If I didn't love him so much I certainly would reconsider so I sure know the terrible pain you are going through. Once mine lasted for three weeks and I would cry in the toilet when peeing.
The only way I have discovered to avoid it is by using condoms. Since all the posts on the subject here and my personal experinece with doctors have shown me no one knows why this happens. Try examining yourself and your partner to find the cause. I have discovered that it is caused by my partners pubic hairs when he has shaved. It makes it even worse if I'm also clean because of the friction. So condoms help because they prevent the newly cut razor like hairs from tearing my vaginal opening. Hope this helps. |

I cannot beleive that everyone has experienced the same thing. I too had a UTI then had a yeast infection about a week or two afterwards. I got my period right after my 3 day treatment so I hadn't been able to have sex for over a week. I had sex with my boyfriend last night and the same thing happend, it hurt at first - then was sort of normal and then I could feel my vagina starting to swell. After sex I had to get an ice pack and by the morning I was fine.
Has anyone been able to find a reason and or a cure for this? |

| i had the same thing. even using condoms didn't fix it. helped, but didn't fix it. i've tested for everything a million times, and i have nothing. when i really look at it, though, it seems like a yeast infection that just won't quit. but it's not testing as a yeast infection... but something isn't right... everyone who's talking about it says it started with a yeast infection that wouldn't go away... i've heard that boric acid gets rid of 99% of persistant cases of yeast... i'm trying that next... |

This sucks. I started getting UTIs from sex when I was 16. The first time was after sex in the shower where the natural lubricant was washed away by water. From then on, I got UTIs and sometimes yeast infections every 2 months or so and then once a month. My gyno finally proscribed me a prophylactic. This is a small does of antibiotics that you take once a day or right before or after sex. It worked amazingly well and I didn't get a UTI for 2 years. But, I had to figure out when I really needed to take one after sex (when I felt like it was rough or long or dry) because taking them every day gave me yeast symptoms. I also started peeing right after sex too which helped a lot.
Now, I just started sleeping with new partners and I am unable to get as wet as I did with a steady partner who knew my body and knew to keep his fingers away from direct contact with my anus and urethra. I got a UTI the first time I slept with the new guy (he is big and didn't get me wet enough) and took an anti biotic and now I think I have another UTI or a microscopic tear in my inner labia on both sides that burns and itches when I pee or get up. I can't even imagine having sex like this.
I also have been on birth control (alesce and now yasmin) for the last 7 years which I think makes me unable to get wet. Is there any supplement that you can take that will allow you to produce natural lubrication from within without using lube? Does KY really help with the dryness? Has anyone experienced worse symptoms after using the lube the heats up? How long does it take these tears to heel? Anything I can do to speed the process? |

| I have the same problem. Doring and after sex I am swollen, stings and it burns when I go to the rest room. I have been checked I am good, I have also tried Lubs (thinking it is not getting wet enough) but that seem to make the pain worse. If anyone has any advise please help. |

| I agree that using lots of lubricant will help. Also, if you shave that region , that area can get very sensitive, might that be some of the problem? |

| Wow I have the same symptoms. I've been with my husband for 10 years and I've never had this problem up until about 3 months ago. I used to love sex, but now I dread the pain! It burns when he is inside me, and it kills me afterwards, especially when I pee. The pain usually goes away by the next morning or afternoon. I've been on the pill for 4 years now, so I'm hoping it has something to do with that. Good luck to all of you! |
