|

Hello,
I just went to my gyno and she said it could be an allergic reaction to scented soap/cleaner/tampons. My mum said she can't wear any underwear that isn't cotton or she gets burning and lots of discharge. Some women can't wear nylons for the same reason.
If the gyn can't pinpoint yeast, STD or anything else (mine had no idea, to her chagrin) then it could be some sort of allergy.
She mentioned that some women are allergic to a guy's cum also (try experimenting with condoms and without). I don't think you can be allergic to your own but you can test that too, I guess.
I would check to see if you use fragrance anywhere, from soap, bubble bath, laundry detergeant, lotion (if it gets anywhere near the area), shaving cream (if applicable) or pads/tampons. You should never wash the area with soap, always just plain water.
Also, this just occurred to me, check to see what your partner uses to clean his area. That might be the reason it only happens with certain partners and not others. However, if you are using a condom, this can't be the case.
Hope I helped! |

| i have had the vaginal burning for a while after a yeast infection has cleared up before. even when i was not tested as having an infection. now i make sure i incude yogurt in my diet every once in a while -esp if i am starting to experience it again- and after a few days it quits. also, that area needs plenty of air. so it's good to sleep comando sometimes. |

I have this same issue!! Crazy that so so many of you do also. I never really had it before, well- once a few years ago, and went to the doctor, and she said I "had the most normal looking vagina she had seen all day"> i freaked b/c i saw all these little shapes in the entrance of my vagina, she said are normal.. I also had a blister thing inside of me, (my first Dr. said i had Genital warts) which my Obgyn said the Dr was wrong, it is just from friction. Those things can take a long time to heal b/c of the location.
So, recently- my husband and I just moved and it has been little sleep for me, too much drinking, eatin bad etc. We have had sex 3 times w/in the past week-1/2 or so.. after each time, its pain. i think it started after time #1, i was sort of drunk, and think he was too rough (sorry if it TMI). the second time, not bad- b/c in the shower. But after i still burned, third time, somewhat burned, not as bad.
A few conclusions: I have started treating myself as if i have a yeast infection (I alwasy seem to have alittle bit down there- is this normal? ) I have begun taking Probiotics supplements.
ALSO_ this is a biggie (b/c i keep reading how we all have the problem, yet no one can really say what will help)- Do you want relief?????????????? TEA TREE OIL!! YES, I WILL REPEAT- TEA TREE OIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TEA TREE IS AMAZING! I USE ON MY SCALP FOR FUNGAL INFECTIONS, IN VAGINA FOR YEAST, AND GUESS WHAT FINALLY HELPED THIS PAIN AFTER SEX??? YUP- TEA TREE OIL!
Go to your local health food store and get some. Its very safe, but smart to dilute it alittle bit first.
OK- good luck and Let me know if it helps!!
ps- i see from the many posts that the words in common seem to be: Yeast infection, Roughness. Also, people using lubricants- those can be irritants also. I dont use any lubricant, never had a problem before this.
I also suspect it could be bacteria on the penis? make sure your man is CLEAN before sex, and maybe clean yourself out too first.
HTH! |

Here to throw a spanner in the works:
I suffer similar symptoms but never got a yeast infection. I did however, get adult tonsillitus which required anti-biotics earlier this year.
I'm with my second sex partner and we had a weekend romp unprotected; from memory we had sex about 5 times in 48hrs.
The inside of my vagina (not the lips) began swelling on the Sunday morning and the pain of urinating slowly increased in intensity over the day.
I woke up Sunday night with the intense need to urinate and basically sat there from 1am to 5am with 15-20min intervals of painful peeing. What I discovered was not only blood in the urine, but some kind of membrane or tissue coming out too which made the pain worse as it passed through.
I'm aware of the peeing/clean yourself after sex and have done so with both this new partner and my previous partner, and it still fails to do anything. I was checked for a UTI previously and it came back normal.
With my first partner, we would use condoms more often, but still go unprotected in the heat of the moment, and about 6-12hrs after sex, these symptoms would come on.
I've got an appointment with my doc this afternoon, but judging by this thread, they aren't going to help much. |

| im only 19 but me and my boyfriend are pretty sexually active and every once in a while it would burn really bad when i peed right after haveing sex.... and a few months ago there were days where i constantly thought i had to pee....like i would go and by the time i got back to my room i would have to pee again...but i'de try and it would only be a few drops....once after sex it burned so bad i cried... my guy is average sized and its not like we have super rough sex.....is it normal to burn during a post sex pee? do i just have a friction blister? do those exist?....oh and ive also been on the pill since i was fifteen so maybe that has something to do with it.....cosmo says that if you're on the pill you may not self lubricate as much as you would if you werent on the pill.... |

I have been on birth control for about 2 years now, and I have also noticed that I do not get nearly as lubricated as when I was not taking the pill. Recently, when I have sex with my boyfriend my vagina starts out lubricated but then feels like it isn't as wet during sex at some points, but it varies. It is almost like I can feel my vagina starting to swell during intercourse, and we aren't having very rough sex at all. It also burns after, if I pee or just in general, but once I let my vagina rest a little (sometimes it only takes 30 minutes to not bother me and sometimes it takes up to like 3 days), it doesn't hurt me anymore unless I try to insert something into it. I am afraid to use a lubricant because last time I did I got an infection, but would this really help, and if so are there any that won't cause an infection? I heard that certain pills may give you less hormones and thus affect your body less, does that include your amount of self-lubrication and will it still manage your cycle and be as effective, as well? Also, has anyone found a solution or cause to the swelling/random burning during and after sex?? |

| I have been with my husband for 5 years and tested for all STD's and came out negative. 2 months ago I had my first UTI and took antibiotics which cleared it up. Then I got a yeast infection, which I used a prescription cream from my OBGYN which cleared that up. Now I am experiencing burning, redness and swelling immediatly after sex. Does anyone know what could be causing this? |

Hey everyone...
so this is happening to me also. Exact same symptoms, exact same past with a yeast infection that seems to keep coming back and now painful sex...
I had an idea tonight though...since its probable that I passed my yeast infection on to my partner....maybe he keeps repassing it back to me?!?
Men often don't have any symptoms when they have one, so they wouldn't know it..???
Just a thought? |

| I'm going through all of this madness too ladies. My burning starts DURING sex and lasts for a few hours after. Its so painful. I've bee on birth control for 4 years now, but this didn't start happening till about 2 months ago. The lube doesn't help me either and I've been tested for yeast and treated for the very small amount that was there--didn't make a difference. If anyone knows anything I've love to be clued in so I can have a sex life again! |
