Posted: 07/31/06 - 16:08 Post subject: vaginal burning and swelling only after sex |
|
|
| recently i've experienced pain during and after sex accompanied by swelling in my inner lips and around the back of my vaginal hole. The pain is intense but subsides by the morning (sex is usually at night). i've been tested for a yeast infection and std's, i'm clean. my doctor doesn't have any suggestions. i've taken time away from sex to see if i need to heal or take a break and that doesn't seem to help. i'm confused and am running out of options |

| Maybe you are getting small scratches or cuts around this area due to penis size or roughness during sex? |

| i know what you are going through i get that as well and i asked my GP about it and she said that it is most likely because there is not enough sacreation" it is not getting wet enough or staying wet enough". if you are birht contol that can be a big cause of that.your dose might be to high. she also said to try using lubicatin |

Posted: 11/06/06 - 18:04 Post subject: Burning and swelling immediately after sex |
|
|
I have also been having a similar issue.
I used to be able to have sex fine until about a two months ago.
It seems that while my boyfriend first goes into my vagina it usually burns...after penetration sex is usually enjoyable. However, after sex (especially if he came in me) I feel an extreme burning, which is soon accompanied by the swelling of the outer vagina. It is quite uncomfortable, and it burns when I pee, and hurts when i sit. However, the swelling subsides after a day or two, and I'm back to normal. I went to my doctor and was tested for STD's, all came back negative. I did have a yeast infection about 2 months ago, but my doctor cleared it. I had went back for a checkup after it subsided b/c problems with sex still occurred, but she said there was absolutely no infection (she did a lot of tests), and she didn't know why it was hurting. I even abstained from sex for about 2 weeks to see if that was the problem. Also, it is not a lubrication issue (i've tried everything). My boyfriend is wide, and large...but it didn't used to do this prior to the yeast infection.
I am very upset, and i really enjoy sex and to be afraid of the pain afterward from doing it, isnt fair. My sex life used to be very good...now it's like "woo, i get 3 days of torture after i do a normal act with my boyfriend".....
someone help.
Also, i read up about something called Vaginal Vestibulitis Syndrome? |

Im with you guys too! Isnt it horrible!!
It doesnt seem to happen everytime i have sex with my partner but most of the time it is unbareble afterwards!
its not a lube thing for me because if anything it gets too wet down there, sometimes i wounder if i am alergic to his or mycum (sorry to have to go into detail) but is that posible? it really herts around my weewee area and the opening! so much so i have to use a cold flannel and a cold cream overnight!!!
maybe its also a hormonal thing.....................
i too only started this problem after i wwas on antiiotics and had a yeast infection so i wounder if we are missing some good bacteria that should be down there?????? |

Posted: 11/15/06 - 10:24 Post subject: labial swelling and burning after sex, pain on initial penet |
|

Wow. There seems to be a lot of us here! I can't beleive I found others who are having the same problem. It seems to even be sparked by the same trigger. I got a UTI, for which I was give antibiotics. From those I got a very persistant yeast infection. That cleared up over a month ago, but I still can't have sex with my boyfriend because I burn and swell so much afterward that I'm afraid I'm doing permanent danmage.
There's a tiny pain on penetration, then total fine until after he's out of me...then the hell begins. It lasts for at least 2-3 days. Lube doesn't seem to make a deifference, since even when he goes down on me forever, there's still the same pain after. I've been to my gyno about 10 times, and been tested for everything. Turns out I do have HPV, but she said she can't imagine that's causing this kind of reaction.
She suggested that because I've been on the pill for 10 years, maybe my estrogen levels have been so low for so long that my vag is starting to see menopausal symptoms (made worse by the trauma of the uti and yeast infection). She started me on estrogen cream last night. I'll let you know how it goes.
Has everyone else that's posted been taking BC for a while? |
