It's so sad that all of us are suffereing yet not ONE has answers.
All most women want is to have a healthy body and healthy sex.
I am in my late 20s, and a year ago I got a new partner and went back on the pill, Marvelon.
Since day 1 with both I have had permenant problems. From odour, to painful swelling, not much of the vulva but pelvic pain, changes in my discharge, and burning.
The first time I was diagnosed with vaginosis.
I was treated.
After that, I have been off and on antibiotics due to 'strep' throat. Each case has been me what appears to be a yeast problem.
I keep getting tested when this happens, it's not candida, it is not anything.
I have had STDs tests done twice and a full physical and pap test done all within this year.
I am clear of everything.
The only thing that gives temporary help is yeast infection medication, I have used pills, creams, everything.
I have tried to change my diet incase I have candida, I use the Diva cup just in case it was tampons causing the problem.
I don't take sit baths.
I don't use soap on the vulva.
I take probiotics.
We are now using condoms incase it is a semen allergy.
We make sure we are lubbed.
I have been torn on my labia before.
The condoms have stopped the swelling but I am now permanently burning on the outside.
The next thing I have to try is getting off of the pill.
Also the vegetable oil for lube sounds like a good idea because it's natural.
I finally got an appointment with an OB GYN but it is a long wait away when I am suffering everyday.
Never mind having it drive us crazy, it's enough to not want to live with it anymore.
I hope that we get answers. |

I found this thread because I just had sex and it was painful.. (penetration is usually painful for me though, I'm very tight and he's fairly large so it's usually not a pretty picture normally) but most of the time the initial pain goes away then it feels good (we give time for me to adjust to him after he's fully penetrated) and usually I'm just puffy/swollen afterwards without any real problems.
But this time (and it has happened before) I feel a burning around my urethra and vaginal opening and when I peed--yep, you guessed it, it burned. It wasn't unbearable pain though (almost a "relieving burn") so my case not be as severe as the majority of yours.
I've had maybe two UTI infections in the past, and I'm also on birth control pills and I'm usually pretty dry so we try to use a lot of KY lube (maybe not enough I guess).
I think that when it gets close to my period I am more tight than usual and that might be what caused this. I usually abstain a couple of days before my period because I just do not feel like having sex at all prior to it.
I also read someone else's post and the both of us just recently showered and we used a rose scented dove soap (which could have caused extra irritation from an allergy) so tomorrow I'm going to have him use unscented to see if that makes a difference.
Now that I know about the irritation rubbing against the urethra we might also try a different position.
Also my lower belly feels swollen/bloated too after we had sex like I suddenly gained 20lbs. ick..
best wishes to you all, sorry I didn't really have any good ideas but I thought I'd add to the sea of woes =( If I notice any sudden difference in what we try I'll let you know[/quote] |

Wowww didn't realize how many people had this same problem! I thought I was a loner!
After sex my labia swell so much, and it hurts to put my legs fully together! Sex once a weekend is all I could possibly handle, MAX! because it takes time for me to heal. Usually the next morning (after sex) my vaginal swelling has subsided but I feel something is wrong?! It's definitely not a lube problem, i'm plenty wet. ... could it be that any bumping whatsoever by his fingers or penis could be hurting my vagina so much? am I just extra sensitive?
HELP!!! |

Like most of you, I am also SHOCKED to find so many other people with this problem!! I have had the same problem in the last 6 months or so, and hadn't had it before, but have been with the same person (now my husband) the entire time. My doctor did diagnose me with vestibulitis, and prescribed me Lidocaine for numbing (no, this does not take away your pleasure during sex - just helps the external pain) and Desoximetasone, which is supposed to help the irritation too. He also gave me a large prescription of Fluconazole to use as needed once a week if I start hurting. I can always tell when it's coming on... and it sucks. After doing more research, it seems like he's really treating a condition called vulvovaginitis instead. If you want to check these out, go to www.aafp.org and look at these two conditions.
My doctor also told me that being more relaxed and "ready" for sex will help. Your body does need to be prepared for sex and it is definitely more comfortable when you produce your own natural lubricant and you are more relaxed in your muscles down there. It's not a cure-all - my husband was out of town for three days last week and we were pretty active when he came home, so I took my Fluconazole pill two days ago. Size of your partner and how forceful you are can matter and can cause irritation from minor tears, but in my case, I've had a child, and my doctor said that shouldn't be a factor for me.
I'm very curious about the birth control idea - I've been on it for the better part of the last 10 years myself, other than the three months prior to becoming pregnant with my first husband and during my pregnancy (of course). Maybe it is time to give my body a break?
Please post any more information you can gather from your doctor!! |

| I just started having sex and my vagina burns when i pee. It didnt come right after having sex but it came a few days later. It isn't a terrible pain but I dont know if it could be a disease. I am going to be checked but I dont think it could be. We were both virgins and it didnt run in the family or anything. I think it might just be that he was being to rough and the condom didnt have barely any lube. |

| I am also very happy to see that there are other women out there searching for answers at 2 am after sex. I've been with my boyfriend for a year, and I believe this problem only really started after I had my first yeast infection. Although, at the same time, we tried the warming lube. Not a good idea at all. If the burning was a problem already, the warming lube just made it worse. Now we just go natural, I make sure he doesn't rush things. I read something about the salty semen, so I just asked him to help me track when it's really bad based on what he ate that day (e.g. he drank all day today). I think the prevalence of those of us who BEGAN experiencing these symptoms after a yeast infection is strange. Good luck to everyone. |

Posted: 06/16/08 - 07:08 Post subject: Pain after sex while urinating... |
|

| Could someone help me out here??? Me and my bf had sex on the 14th, the 15th is "suppose" to be my ovulation date. We had sex twice and he ejaculated in me and around midnight i started to have very mild cramps and the next day it slightly hurted when i urinated... maybe a 2 out of 10 on a pain scale, the cramps would only be here when i have to urinate and i have no vaginal discharge, ordor, or pain....Does anyone have an idea of what that could be. |

| SAME! With all of it! I don't know what to do. I feel like my sex life is really suffering and although my boyfriend acts like he doesn't mind the truth is that I really want and like to have sex. It first started with a little burning and then it stopped but not it's like every time we do it I'm in pain for the rest of the night and I experience pain while urinating. I haven't had sex in two weeks and now I've started to get a brown discharge. I do not even know if they are related. I know it is not a UTI or a bladder infection. I don't know I'm really scared. If someone has some sort of information, Please do share because I'm clueless. |
