vaginal discharge after birth control

i have been having sex with my boyfriend now for a year and we are always very very SAFE. we always wear a condom and he even pulls out before he ejaculates with a condom on. i just recently got on birth control and we have sex with a condom and birth control and he still pulls out - point being that - we are very safe.

a couple weeks after i got my birth control i had surgery to have my tonsils taken out. i was constantly on pain killers and birth control everyday. anyway, the mixture made me very sick and nauseus and i vomit a lot. im off my pain killers now and the vomitting/nasuea has stopped but when i was supposed to have my period [since im on birth control my periods are more regular and i can predict when i have them] ive had dark brown/black discharge with a little bit of blood. it actually looks like blood that you would have in the very end of your period.

im very very scared about this, i dont think it is an STD at all. i dont have anal sex and i always use protection but this dark discharge is something i NEVER had until i took birth control and my period was getting close.

the birth control i take is called ortho tri-cyclen.

I doubt you are pregnant. Your body is reacting to a stressful event. Any event like surgery and sickness, even changing exercise habits, can cause changes in your cycle. Good Luck!!!
