I知 going to have vaginal ultrasound next week. I have never had it before. I知 25 and feel uncomfortable about this, because generally, have not visited gyn very often in my life. I have to do this now because my periods have become very painful. Please tell me more about how it looks like. Thanks in advance.

Well, I had one recently and am glad that can help. You値l get a small probe, like a tampon to insert it into your vagina. Part of a probe has to stay outside of the body. That outer part allows ultrasound technician to move it and adjust for a clear view. I really did not find it uncomfortable. It also does not last very long. Hope that helped.

So you insert the probe yourself or does the doctor do it? Is the probe comparable to the size of a tampon?
Thanks!

I just had a transvaginal ultrasound today. I was so freaked out about it because I am a virgin and I though it was going to hurt so bad. It was actually not bad at all. It doesn't hurt, its just feels a little strange. All you will feel is some pressure. Its pretty quick and I would rather have that done then a pelvic exam.
