Well, the threshold for adults is 10 000 IU for vitamin A. But you should be careful cos you are already getting vitamin a from meat, fish and dairy products. You may be getting beta carotene from orange and yellow vegetables as well and your body converts a lot of beta carotene into vitamin A.
It would be good if you took only 5000 IU of the multivitamins and then ate proper food that contained vitamin a.
