wart in throat

my husband has been told he has a wart in his throat and is booked in to have this removed under a local.

i am confused as to how he got a wart there as i have never heard of them there,
also the risks involved in the surgery especially as he is on aspirin and has a tendency to bleed heavily when he has cuts etc. and has had a stroke and suffers from TIAs (mini strokes)

also the risk of the bug MRSA as it lives in the throat.

would be grateful for any input.
