Someone very close to me is looking for a way to stop her menstruation. She has MS, and is confined to a wheelchair. She also suffers from blood clots fairly often.In addition, she has learned that she is going blind. She is very worried about how she is going to deal with menstruation since she lives in a nursing home. Any suggestions?

Depo injection stops periods in many women who have it, but she would need to check that it was o.k to have with her other medications. There is also an IUD that releases a small amount of hormone which also reduces the amount or stops menstruation. I am not sure what it is called but if you Private Message Carifairy she will tell you the name.

The Mirena IUD CAN stop menstruation, BUT some women have constant bleeding from it..She would not need to risk that actually.. ENDOMETRIAL ABLATION is a minor surgical procedure which will definately stop the period bleeding.
