How long has it been and what's your age? I had mine done several years ago and I have gained weight since my surgery in 2002.

After being thin my whole life, I gained 20 kilos in the year after my tubal ligation. Despite cutting food intake to very small levels, I can't seem to shake it (I went to a dietitian for weight loss and she said my calorie intake was too low -- and she wanted me to eat more, so I quit seeing her).
I've also had *intermittant* essential hypertension (which I have been told by specialists is very strange, since it should be one thing or another, but not 130/60 one day and 200/110 a week later), and an ovarian hemmorage since having this procedure.
In fact, if I think about it, after being healthy for 38 years, I have had a medical crisis about ever two years since that surgery.
So I have been wondering about "tubal ligation syndrome"... whether there is anything people who are hormonally challenged can do to lose weight (I have a desk job but am relatively active), and what other things I seem to have unknowingly signed up for.
And also that I'm not the only one.

I am 23 and had a tubal after my 2nd child in oct of 2007. Now I dropped weight after I had my daughter but soon gained a lot of it back, I blamed most of it on being at home and not eating right. However, I notices most of the weight gain after the tubal. Not only have I gained weight but I am exercising two times a day and weight watchers and not eating after 8 pm. I drink 4 15 oz glasses of water a day, I am on it for the long hall yet, I don't think too much has changed besides I am probably much healthier. I am not giving up but getting a little upset at the hard work I am putting in. However, I am not too far into the diet so we will see I just expected to see more of a result because of how dedicated I am. I am already having other complications other than this excessive weight gain...and i tend to hide out and not want to be seen by even closest of friends, im just upset over it but still so determined...

I have gained alot of weight since my tubal in 04. I have always been very small and petite weighing no more than 115 at max unless pregnant. And as a shocker to all I have 8 children and was still this small afterwards, until my tubal. I had the procedure done when my baby was 6 weeks old and I was weighing 130 ( 188 at birth ) in 2 days after ny surgery I weighed a huge hefty 170. 40 lbs and not pregnant, I have tried everything under the sun from diets to excercise. The only time I could lose some was from hardly eatting enough food for 1 toddler meal and I couldn't keep like that. I was 175 and got down to 128 in 4 months. Here it is almost 4 months later and I'm back up to 155. I have a diet with NO bread, potatoes or junk food only rich in fruits, some vegies, yogurts and diet snacks/meals and nothing has helped. I am actually looking into getting them untied to lose weight. I don't know how much it has effected your emotions but it makes me depressed alot knowing I can't lose weight. Used to be size 1, now I'm a size 6 and going back to size 12 I feel.
