Is weight loss possible on diabetic diet? What are the goals of diabetic diet? My wife is prescribed on one. I would like to know more about it. I will appreciate any info.
The treatment goals for a diabetes diet are to achieve near normal blood glucose levels, then to protect the heart and aim for healthy lipid levels and control of blood pressure. To achieve reasonable weight also, because overweight type 2 diabetics who are not taking medication should aim for a diet that controls both weight and glucose. So, answer would be that weight loss is possible.
