Hi, I have read somewhere that delirium can be a very serious condition in old people and that it can lead to death if it is not treated. My mother is seventy years old. I have noticed that she occasionally gets disoriented and forgetful, but I always thought that this happens to her because of her age. Can you please tell me what the causes for delirium are so that I can compare them to my mother's medical history?

If you think that your mother is suffering from delirium you should take her to the doctor right away. With every second you wait, you are diminishing your mother's chances for recovery.
