what are the problems of smelling camphor?

I am suffering from asthma. On my last vacation I was left without my medicines ( my baggage were lost ) , and some local guy told me that I could help myself with smelling Camphor. Now, few weeks after I still smell Camphor and I am OK. What are the problems of smelling camphor?

Smelling Camphor can cause an over dose. In addition, if Camphor is used as medication for diagnosed disease, you should talk to your doctor about changing therapy. Camphor is used in some countries for asthma problems, but those people know how to do that. In western culture, people do not have enough knowledge about alternative drugs and medicine.
