| Hi, I've been wondering if I might have tourettes. I think I randomly blurt out things, that sometimes don't make any sense and sometimes are relevant to the situation and really awful. I don't shout or curse, and emotionally it ranges from sudden, spiteful anger to apathetic sadness. It's stuff that shocks me but that I can't control, and usually happens when I'm stressed out or uncomfortable, and not really thinking about anything. I think I may have physical ticks too, but I never really noticed them because they didn't cause much trouble: leg shaking, shuddering, eye twitching, etc. I first noticed the verbal ticks at around 19 (which seems pretty old compared to your stories), and they don't happen often. So far as I know nobody else in my family has this problem. |

I think one of my good friends might have turrets because the other day, he was at my place and he started twitching his head and arms, then he started grunting, rolling his eyes and yelling out names of gods. It was really scary.
He has been twitching before for a few month & saw a doc about it, though he said it was stress. But the grunting and calling out is new.
Do you know what it might be, my friends and i are worried for him.
thanx |

|
|
| For about a yera now I have realized that I have had a mild ticking problem in my neck, I guess you could call it "neck stretching" and I have no clue why I do it. At first I remember doing itto help ease my sore neck from sports, but I still have the tick even now. I don't even reealize im doing it sometimes, and it comes and goes every so often. I am 15 years old, so ive had this since i was i was 14 about. I'm not sure if this this jst something normal, or actually problem. |

Posted: 10/16/06 - 15:36 Post subject: i want to know if my little brother mite have turrets |
|
|
| Ive been worried about my little 6year old brother. Ever since school started and he only started 1st grade. The teachers put so much pressure on the kids now and expect them to know everything at that age and they pile homework on them and my brother does not get done for a good half hour. Not too long ago my mother and I have recently seen that my brother is constantly twitching (shaking) his hands and complains that his arms are itchy but on the inside not the outside. Im not sure if this mite be turrets because its every few minutes maybe every 5minutes or so he'll twich his hands. Please someone get back to me im beyond worried about him. Its not fair for a kid this young to have something like this because of school. |

I have the same problem where I will grunt or say something weird (at times with obscenties). It was a bit humurous at first, but it's been concerning me the past several months.
I don't normally do this in public, but it will translate to head movements if I don't say anything out loud.
I'm actually scheduled to discuss this with my doctor. If I find anything that is usefule, I will update this forum. |
