| Has there been experiences of using prayer, diet, diagnosis for deficiencies and toxic metals and chiropractics to counter these symptoms? What has been the outcome? F.B. |

| you know when you have something wrong with you.. u have to learn to accept and live with this problem, i was diagnosed when i was 7. it was such a mind blowing problem for me my whole life, gets better with time, some great medication i have found has been ativan, at low does this medication can change your life. do not abuse this drug though because it can be extremly habit forming. Goodluck, it wont kill you i promise. need to explain your situation to a neurologist first. |

| As cliche as this may sound but I think I might have turrets? I'd heard the term though didn't know what it referred to, I would just call what happened my "spasms", it didn't occur to me that it could be turrets till I had heard of someone that had an extreme case of it and some of the symptoms sounded an awful lot like what I had experienced. They've been happening to me since either 8th grade or freshmen year in high school, I am now 20 going to be 21 this July, and it's gotten worse over the last couple of years. Most symptoms are I suddenly twist my head to one side or the other, say damn suddenly, suddenly start whistling "Amazing Grace" for no reason, shoulder spasms, and suddenly recite this poem that I made up for no reason, and occasionally my lower left eyelid will keep twitching for about 5 to 10 min. Sometimes it'll be triggered by thoughts of previous events where I felt either ashamed, embarrassed, or stressed. Typically these symptoms will occur while driving or when I'm by myself, they sometimes occur in public, though not often, and when people notice I'll say that I had a pinched nerve or that I felt a bug bite or something to avoid embarrassment. I find that if I can find an activity to focus my mind on that it tends to keep spasms from occurring. |

I feel that I have TS as well. I have always made little grunts or some noiseof some kind. I am 31 now and they are worse than ever. It drives me in sane. I made loud quick squealing noises like a horse or something, and grunting, clearing my throat and sniffing. I have mention something to my Doc about it and he kind of laughed it off, and said "I have never heard you doing it.: But it's like I can control it, like if I go to a funeral or something and I KNOW there is no tollerence for it, I won't do it. But when I am working, or doing something like washing my car or weed eating ect, I do it allot and very loud. My says that she can hear me over the weed eater.
I know it drives people crazy or they think I am a friggin looney toon, but Man I hate it worse than any of them I guarantee. If anyone can offer any tips or best practices to help with this, I will gladly welcome them. Thanks, having a place t vent it too is cool! |
