Cervititis is an inflammation of the uterine cervix. Infectious cervititis might be caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Trichomonas vaginalis, herpes simplex virus (HSV), or human papillomavirus (HPV). Noninfectious cervititis might be caused by local trauma, radiation, or malignancy. The inflammation could also arise during abortion or delivery. If not treated, cervititis may lead to infertility!!!
