what dementia types are there?

Hi, my mother is suffering from dementia for almost 5 years. She is 75 years old and I have read many articles and books about it, with hope that I may help her. I have noticed that there are different types of dementia depending on cause. I would like to know what types of dementia are there and something more about it. Thanks.

The most often type of dementia is Alzheimer's disease which is well known although its cause is still unknown. Multi infarct dementia is type of dementia which is caused by small strokes in the brain of affected. There is also alcohol dementia which deteriorates intellectual ability of person. Pick's disease is type of dementia caused by degeneration of frontal lobe. Also is sort of dementia connected with Parkinson's disease.
