Hi, I suffer from dysmenorrhea from the first time I got my period. In time I was able to deal with the pain with the help of ibuprofen, but the last couple of months the pain killers are not helping at all! What do you do when the pain meds are not working?

Hi, I know exactly what you mean. Painful, disabling periods are a part of my life too. The problem is that I am perfectly healthy and that there is nothing the doctors can do to help. So pain meds are my only option too. I too use ibuprofen in the first few days of the period. It was very helpful, but not always. That is when my friend told me to try the next combination. I am sure it will work for you too. If you have a regular period you should start taking aspirin five days before the period starts and then ibuprofen during the period. This has helped me tremendously. And in those extra hard days I drink lots of mint tea. It not only helps with the cramps, but it will also help you fall asleep, making the time pass faster. But, you shouldnt try anything of this until you talk to your gynecologist first. Maybe there is another cause for your pain. You should definitely check it up.
