what is a Mcgill-Melzack inventory?

Hi, I heard about some Mcgill-Melzack inventory, made to distinguish different sorts of pain and help in managing treatment. What is it actually?

Hi, I don’t know exactly either, but I saw in some articles these expressions “ the Beck Depression Inventory, the Beck Anxiety Inventory and McGill-Melzack Pain Questionnaire”. It seems that patients are given chance to describe and characterize themselves the pain sensations. I don’t know how precise this can be or objective, since everybody believes his pain is the greatest and doesn’t realize that many people out there suffer even much more. All conclusions based on such tests should be without exaggeration, distortions, and have validity scales, otherwise they could be easily subject to manipulation.
