My dad had a heart attack. He is ok; I mean he had one of those weak heart attacks, when the people are not really ware that it is happening. He went to sea doctor because of chest discomfort and then he found out what had happened. Anyway, he says that he needs to do another echocardiogram. What is echocardiogram? Does it hurt?

Echocardiogram is a scan of heart. An ultrasound that produces an image on the screen is used as part of this. It is commonly used as diagnostic tool. It is not painful and it takes less then hour. You might hear before about echocardiogram, people call it ECHO. Anyway there doctor can see abnormalities of the heart. It is not rare asked from the people who had survived heart attack to do echocardiogram.
