Lortab is a combination of acetaminophen (Tylenol) and hydrocodone. It is prescribed for moderate to moderately severe pain. Hydrocodone binds to the pain receptors in the brain so that the sensation of pain is reduced. Acetaminophen halts the production of prostaglandins which otherwise cause pain. It is available in tablet, capsule, and liquid form and is taken every 4-6 hours by mouth. Hydrocodone can be habit forming, so one should be careful with Lortab. It is only available with prescription and any use or purchase with one is considered illegal.

I would suggest that you leave your moms items alone! She is an adult and has almost certainly gotten this medication from a physician! It seems to me that you have betrayed your mother, and if she did this to you, you would feel the same..... betrayed. If you are snooping around in hopes of finding something for yourself I would suggest that you leave her medication alone! This could cause her a major problem if you use medication that is meant for her and then she runs out too early, not to mention that you absolutely should not be taking any medication that was not given to you by a physician

I would like to tell the author that asked about what lortabs were that they found in their mothers secret box, that the best way to find out what they were would be to ask mom! However it appears that this was not an option because the author for some reason was snooping! I hope that the intent was not to find a medication that they could abuse because it could not only be detrimental to the snoopers health, but mom would run out of medication before she was suppose to and have to wait until it was time to refill her pain medication again, and have no pain medication until that time. She would also be wondering all the time what happened to her medication that she had in her secret box!!! Also, if their mother had done this to them they would have given mom all sorts of grief for invading their privacy. I am a chronic pain patient, and I keep my medication in a safe that is bolted to the floor! I advise people with medications that are hard to replace or have problems with missing medications to do as I do!

the reactions to this are ridiculous
i think it is 100% legit to check up, ANYONE can have addictions, and if mothers need to be checked up on, they do. maybe you anti snoopers got stuff to hide.
