Here's some information of another way in non-srugical treatment for hemorrhoid stage 1-3, and some stage 4.

Not sure if you folks heard of Ultroid.

I gave a couple of reading, and hope that my country had some knowledge on this non-invasive method to deal with the large scale of hemorrhoid cases.
I would clearly pay double for this, if there was such treatment available..but for US citizens, I think it's easier to get this treatment.

Relatively, 85%+ of success rate in treatment. No recurrance at this stage or complications.
Doctor would examine and then advise how many treatment is required.

I am hoping this would be here. Aside from the 3-6 weeks of aggravating pain and post surgical issues, complications and etc...I hope Ultroid technology would be used instead.

It's been a few weeks since I stumbled across this godsend of a message board the night before my surgery. I went to the doctor one day and was supposed to have "office surgery" the next. In that small time I started to search the net. The next morning I could not get in touch with the surgen, as (fortunately for me) the phone lines in his office were down and he never returned any of my calls through an office assistant. In the time I tried to get in touch with him I decided against the surgery after reading all the stories and testimonials of recovery time on this and a few other sites.

I learned that this surgery was first done in the 1920s... so the natural thought process turned to what people who have undoubtedly suffered through this problem, have done through the ages. This began the endless search for any cures or advice that common knowledge and the internet could offer. I came across herbal cures and am very glad to say that THEY ARE WORKING.

I found a local herb shop the next day. I went in looking for butchers broom to make a tea out of and other herbs to make a natural salve. John, the owner helped point me in the right direction. He suggested a product called "VARI-GONE" rather than the tea. It's a multi herb capsule that's designed to help "support circulation for vein health, strength, and function." and designed for hemorrhoids, varicose and spider veins. It contains vitaminC, Horse chestnut seed, fenugreek seed, and butchers broom.

For a salve I found a recipe on the net that has also helped. *White Willow Bark, Goldenseal Root, and Aloe Vera Gel.* The white willow and goldenseal come in capsules, empty them into a small ammount of aloe vera, mix, and apply directly. (i originally used "golden salve" an olive oil mix that also contained comfrey seed.. another anti inflamitory agent, but I feel that the aloe had better results.

I've started eating better and using these two. The hemorrhoids that the doctor said wouldn't get any better than they were when he was ready to throw me to the wolves are probably less than half of what they were before, and continually getting better.

I hope this can be of some help to anyone out there. I know this is an uncomfortable and embarrasing topic, but I feel that this site is the best support that I have recieved. I thank you all for your very personal words and wish you all the best. For those of you who have had the surgery and those that are having problems I keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I am so happy for you. I wish that I had done some research before having this stupid surgery that I should never have had. It has been 8 months since I had the surgery and every day I wish that I could go back and NOT have it. I am on my 5th doctor who I think is finally getting me better but gradually. He says that I have an unhealed wound left from my hemorrhoidectomy. He recently cauterized the wound which felt terrible but I think has helped some. I refuse to have any more surgery on my rear. If I am not all better soon, I think that I will ask this doctor or seek out a doctor who will prescribe hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). HBOT is used to help heal "hard to heal" wounds. There is something to the phrase "leave well enough alone" when it comes to having ANY surgery. If your hemorrhoids don't cause you considerable pain then LEAVE THEM ALONE and try methods like the one listed in the post above mine. I mean this with all my heart. It feels good knowing that the person in the above post avoided this dumb surgery.

I had a hemorrhoidectomy with 2 trom roids removed 8 days ago on Sunday, May 13. Thought recovery would be quick, per the doc and nurses... not! Had first BM 2 days after surgery; ow! The next day, was inconienent; so ER gave me a foley catheter; great, but believe me, not having the urge to pee, then BM is a hugh relief. At 8 days, I focus on making my stool as soft as possible, with both metamucil and docusate. BM is still extremely painful. Tried to go to work 3 days afterwards, Wed, and just about passed out. Had to get home to another sitz bath. The lingering bottom pain is now gone, except for about 3 hours after a BM. My bummer is that the doc couldn't get everything in one surgery (only 2 roids per surgery). So one more time down the road. Thanks to those who gave encouragement that it's worth it. It's got to be, but it is a tough road. The inflateable donut shaped pillow from Longs was totally worth the $17. Should have got it the day after surgery. Had to go to ER again 5 days post surgery due to lingering pain of exposed flesh. Turns out the cut away is normal, and your bottom will replenish the tissue from within, per the doc. So just wait, drink lots of water, and take those sitz baths and stool softeners. Here's hoping that my BMs will be far apart!

Well, after reading all these post, I think I will cancel my surgery tomorrow. I start a new job in two weeks...Dental Hygienist...sitting most of the day. Any advice? The last thing I want to tell my new employer is that I had hemrroid surgery! I just told them how I never miss a day of work! Now what??? The posts regarding all this pain is causing me to hurt while I speak! Today my surgeon gave me this new prescription mouse...proc??? something...it's has a very warming sensation for at least 20 minutes...feels really nice to the area (this is before surgery), so I imagine it will feel just as nice after surgery.
I'm more worried about going to a new job in two weeks? YIKES??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Rolling Eyes

If you are starting a new job in two weeks then I would CANCEL the surgery. Through all of my research on this surgery I now know that this is the absolute worst surgery to recover from and the most painful compared to almost ALL surgeries. Worse than: cancer surgeries, hip replacement, gallbladder, brain anerysm, bunion removal, etc., etc. etc.

ALso, there is NO easy way to explain (especially to a new boss) why you cannot go to work or for that matter SIT on your butt or drive in a car etc. There is NO way to take a break from using that part of your body on a daily basis. I now take practically NO pleasure from eating because all that I can eat from now on is fiber and fiber-rich foods because my rear-end almost always is in pain.

Please consider trying multiple different non-evasive measures in dealing with your hemorrhoids. Every day I wish that I could go back and make the decision to NOT have this stupid surgery. I wish that I had the decision that you STILL can make. There is NO such thing as a butt transplant but if there was I would jump at the chance for a new one because this surgery screwed up the one and only butt that I do have.

I only share all of this info because I wish that someone would have written it to me before I had my surgery because I would have chosen a different path for my life.

I agree. I had the operation on 13th January and it has been a roller coaster ride (one that I have had to take mostly standing up....hahahah)

I have had a couple of good days this week and actually had a pain free day today. I went out on my motor bike twice and went for a long walk with my Princess (fiancee) and our beautiful border collie dog. It is basically the first long walk I have been on since January.

So its now 10pm and I am just now starting to "feel" my butt as it's getting a bit sore. I am sick of trying to determine whether its an "outside" pain or an "internal" pain....its just a pain. It's not terrible but to be honest I dont know what is normal anymore. You can get so fixated on this pain in the butt that you lose the plot.

SO here's my new experiment. I am going to do the "boy thing" and ignore this for a while and see what happens. I will let you all know how it progresses. Hopefully I can work through this as nothing else has worked.

The specialist has now found 2 internal hemms that he wants to band (yeah right). I would advise everyone to think very carefully before having this operation. Try EVERYTHING else first.

Well I have been debating having this done for about 4 months now. After reading this site, needless to say I was not confident about my idea of moving forward. However as most on this site know, the hassle of creams, bleeding, and thrombosed after thrombosed will lead to some tough thought process. I told myself that I was going to post here so that others can follow my progress. I had one huge external and internal removed this past Friday the 25th. Actual surgery was nothing. Remember being wheeled into OR then waking up in Recovery. Time in at 8AM and out at 10:30 on way home. Took one percocet in car on way home, slept for about 3 hours. Took 1 percocet every 4 hours until bed (total of 3) Then thought hey take 2 like it said I could so I would be sure to sleep. (freak out is more like it.) one is fine I quickly discover. So day 1 is over and feeling ok. Day 2 stick to advil only and lay around. I do walk around the house outside 3 times to get air and not stay still. Took 1 percocet at 3AM and that was it. Sunday is first BM Not bad. Been taking colace 3x a day and nothing extreme fiber wise, just wheat chex, bannana, and whole wheat english muffin. Really not bad and no blood. Went all day Sat with only advil. Took 1 10mg of Lortab that I had left over last night (not as strong as percoet) Today is Monday and feeling more pain than yesterday. Only really one spot that hurts but if you stretch the muscle or it touches anything you know it. Still only Advil though. This AM had to have BM but felt constipated. More painful than yesterday and was worried about constipation. Guzzled a bottled water and then had another BM. This hurt intitially but once you get started it was ok. No blood in bowl or tissue. I am more sore than yesterday, but not in agony. If people find this helpful I will continue to post. I am able to work from home this week, if I can, so I am fortunate there. Work is very understanding. On that front anyone who has this, you can go on short term disabiltiy if you miss more than 5 days and that is with pay as long as you are not hourly or working for say a "mom and pop" operation. I do not get all the concern on that front. To others that hurt, I do not mean to say that you do not or that you have not had problems. I hope and pray that I continue to do ok and wish you the best. I just wanted to post my experience be it good or bad so that others can decide. Bottom line for me is that it is too soon for me to say thumbs up or down, but I do know that I am not experiencing the pain that others reference. I only had two done so take that for what it is worth. To everyone best of luck, and if it helps, remember our service members who serve with pride and have died with pride.
