what is the status of digoxin now in treatment of heart failure?

Hi, my father suffers from chronic hypertension. As a result of that, as his doctor explained, left ventricle has enlarged which affected the heart activity. Beside hypertension, now he has heart insufficiency. He is using digoxine and my question is what is the status of digoxin in treatment of heart failure now?

This medication has to be used only by doctors orders. If not used properly, it can damage heart function and complicate hearts current condition. It deals with heart insufficiency and different forms of arrhythmia. It must not be used with diuretic medications at the same time (drugs that lead to decreased level of kalium).
