how long should i be out of work for anterior cervical discectomy on c5-c6 and c6-c7 with instrumentation. i have done roofing all my life .
if any clue please let me know my doc acts dumb so any help would be great.

I went back to work 8 wks after my surgery. Worked 20hrs for two weeks then hit it full time.
I was considered as having a "high" bearing job ( meaning it was pretty physical) but nothing near the physical job as roofing.
I think your surgeon probably will not give you a definite time frame because everyone heals at a different pace. My surgeon took xrays to check my progress at recovery. Good luck!
