Hello, My wife, age 52 is an American visiting South Africa. She was just hospitalized for a kidney infection and treated for related dehydration. she is taking antibiotics and pain killers. I don't know that kind.
She has been home for a day. Had to go to ER to cauterize bleeding nose, thought to be related to the dhydration. She is feeling very badly, and has asked for my help to learn what she can before going to her doctor again in the morning. New symptoms, she describes this way.
"scortchedfeeling tongue and back upper soft palate- tongue really bright red throat red in back and getting lighter toward front
no fever
no flue. regular sore throat
vomiting came much later
it seems to be own symptom
it burns like hot liquid on it"
What possibilities do you see here? Any questions she should ask her doc?
