My sister is in her 6th month of pregnancy and I have to admit that we are all very happy for her. Especially because of the fact that pregnancy progresses well, without any problems. Still, my sister hears a lot of stories from her friends and pregnant women at the hospital that give her funny ideas. Will senokot send a pregnant woman into labors?

Senokot belongs to a group of stimulant laxatives. Its mechanism is based on irritation of tissue in the bowels, which speeds up the bowel motions and peristaltic movements. As for pregnancy, I have to be honest and say that I have never heard off that use for senokot. Especially when we all know that doctors do not recommend use of any drugs while woman is in pregnancy.
