Hi! I have herniated disk and I will have surgery. I smoke all my life and doctor suggested me to quit. Please tell me will smoking affect my surgery? Should I quit?

Hi! You should quit, because smoking is high risk for some very serious diseases like lung cancer. Smoking after surgery could limit your breathing and slow down your healing. You should discus with your doctor to help you to quit. Also he will explain why is important for your recovery to quit smoking.
