| I have been taking Ambien for well over a year and Cymbalta for about 4 months now. I have quit taking both cold turkey, about 4 days ago. I am going through withdrawals. Has anyone experienced the same, if so how long does the withdrawals last. |

| I experienced terrible withdrawal symptoms after abrupt disuse of ambient. I used it nightly for 6months then stopped. I did not sleep for 2 weeks....I experienced a heightened anxiety level, mild hallucinations for the first week. My legs felt heavy and sore and I had problems walking for the first week as well. I am only 30 so walking/running isn't typically a problem. My withdrawal from ambient was horrible to put it lightly. After 2 weeks i found my memory dramatically improved and I began to sleep normally again all other withdrawal symptoms where gone with in 2 to 3 weeks. |

Oh my goodness. Neither of these drugs are ones that you should stop cold turkey. Because of the immense dependency of ambien, the stopping of it can cause many physical as well as mental disruptions in daily life (not pleasant ones either).
Most doctors will tell you that you should never stop an anti depressant without weaning yourself from it first, the mood swings alone can be enough to drive you back to a depressive/manic episode. As for phsyical effects: these can be noted with many drugs that interact with the mind in the way Cymbalta does. My main side effects were dizziness, headache, mild hallucinations, and sensitivity to light. |
