withdrawl symptoms of methotrexate

Hi,

I have taken methotrexate 17.5 mg for 18 months and have just stopped but I don't feel too good. Could you tell me how long I will feel withdrawl symptoms?

Have you talked to your doctor about stopping methotrexate? Wouldn’t you be much better with tapering than just suddenly quitting? Have you been put on another drug?

Methotrexate shouldn’t be mixed with other painkilling drugs and if your doctor prescribed anything else, the Methotrexate dose should be slowly tapered while this other drug is being slowly introduced.

My mother had her dosage lowered every eight weeks when she was put on Infliximab.

Have you been regularly checking the kidneys, liver and blood while on the drug? It is very powerful drug, systemic and has affects on many other body parts other than those that it is taken for.

If you are having troubles being off the drug, consult your doctor.
