hi my son is 12 yrs old he has bad thoughts going through his head at certain times he feels like his brain is racing with wierd scarry thoughts when this happens he is usually alone and needs to be with someone straight away he feels like his mind is telling him to think and do things that he thinks is very wrong most of the time he is in the shower or in bed sometimes some of the symptons are sweatting panicking and pacing he tries to explain whats going on in a panic state some of the thoughts are
about death ,about the future ,being all alone,he questions whether i have a brain because he feels like his brain is so full thanx can you help

I do criminal profiling for a living, and it sounds like maybe 1 of 2 things. 1st is the panic attacks, this could be from coming of age - or possibly something more serious. I would say it is not usual to have a 12 year thinking death related thoughts. 2nd possibility could be schizophrenia. This would need to be seriously considered, and checked out by a well known therapist. Below I have included a link to the website that I find most helpful.
