Hi there. I have been taking yaz and am now experiencing light headedness almost a drunk feeling if you will. I have only been consitent with it for a week and a half. I feel moody also. The doctor says its not been long enough to have side effects but this is the only thing different in my life. I have triedit for thepast 3months on and off also. Should I just go off the pill? Im married and theres no need for prtoection, I will just make my hubby go see "Dr.Stop" Please let me know if I should be feeling so disconnected and moody on this pill. I am desperate for answers.

Thanks Confused

Usually, women are liable to experience side effects in the first three months (first three cycles) of the oral contraceptive, there is a decrease in the prevalence of side effects after the fourth month on the pill.

Switching to a pill with less estrogen can reduce side effects, although with a lower dose you must be careful that the dose is still high enough to halt ovulation.

However, some women just simply react badly to the pill, my rule is
3 months on the new pill, note any side effects, severity and which day in your cycle they occur, report this to your doctor when you go back. If syptoms persist, switch to a new pill.

If hormonal contraception doesn't seem to suit you, you can try non hormonal methods such as the IUD!

When I first started on Yaz (I have been on it for year and a half now) I remember getting a lot of headaches. Not sure about dizzy spells. But I know when !it was about 3 months I felt very sick and began to feel side effects. I was dizzy, getting headaches, felt sick all the time and missed my period. I went to my doctor and she told me to see how the next month went. The next month was fine and I've been happy with it ever since! Hope this helps.
