I’m interested in efficacy of zovirax pills in treatment of herpes lesion on mouth. I mean as prevention. I can feel the irritation on my lips few days before the lesion appears there. I was thinking if it would be effective that I start with pills than to prevent forming of lesion. Should I do that? I use to have herpes several times a year, and it always looks so bad and is hard to be masked.

Zovirax is used in prevention of outbreaks, it can not cure herpes, I’m sure that you know that, as you said that you were chronic sufferer. Zovirax can help sore heal faster, but I think that it can not stop it to appear. It can help prevent infection to come back. And infection is very contagious, even though you are taking zovirax, you can pass it to another person.
