My mothers is 75 and is in very good health. She has been 4 months with very painful swollen breasts, mostly after supper in the evening. What could this be?

A week ago I had a D & C, and a few days after that , I noticed that my nipples were unusually erect. After about four days, I noticed a bloody discharge. help, Is ther a relationship between the procedure and the follow nipple issue? :'(
