Corticosteroids are drugs related to cortisol, a hormone produced in the adrenal cortex. Corticosteroids are used primarily as anti-inflammatories but could be also used for treating some malignancies or natural hormone deficiency. Corticosteroid Drugs Include: Betamethasone (Celestone), Budesonide (Entocort EC), Cortisone (Cortone), Dexamethasone (Decadron), Hydrocortisone (Cortef), Prednisolone (Prelone), Prednisone (Deltasone) and Triamcinolone (Kenacort, Kenalog).

Has anyone else had a reaction from having a cortisone injection in knee? ie waking in early hours of morning twice a night with flushing swollen face hot red hot patches on elbows &chest has lasted over 10 months?

erectile dysfunction and a loss of libido after Cortisone shot in an ankle

Hi All ,   After 4 days of Cortisone shot in my ankle , i have completely lost my libido and face severe erectile dysfunction. This was my first shot in life, has anyone else faced it and how long does it take to get back to normal , my libido before the shot was completely normal.

Steroid withdrawal. What was your dosage of kenalog and how long did it take to recover?

Had shot of kenalog 60 mg two months ago.  Been in hell ever since.  Anyone gone thru this and come out the other side?  what was your dosage and how long did it take to recover?   Thanks!

rage and depression from steroid injections. i was taking them for my rotator cuff

I have been getting rotator cuff and C5 disk injections for 6 mo. I have had 4. I am done. No more! No more screaming and freaking out at loved ones. No more crying and sadness. I refuse to suffer from these side affects any longer. Everything is worse.

Cortisone injections and feeling of burnt skin

Two months ago gp struggled to inject steroids into knee. Two weeks later,unable to weight bare,had further injection but this was in right place and worked. However,the soreness inside is uncomfortable and the last two weeks feels as though it’s been burnt. What happened.

I got a cortisone shot for Shoulder Tendinitis treatment and had only minimal improvement

I just had a cortisone shot 4 days ago after a  long spell with tendinitis of the right shoulder. The shot has provided minimal improvement. Is it a good idea to have a second in a different part of the shoulder right away? I have also been receiving PT for the last 6 weeks.

Side Effect of Steroid Neck Injections? I started losing hair since I had them

I have had two steroid injections for my neck in the middle of my upper shoulder and am scheduled for my third injection; however, in the last month, i have noticed that my hair is thinning as I am lossing some hair when I wash it. It that one of the side effects?
