Corticosteroids are used primarily as anti-inflammatories but could be also used for treating some malignancies or natural hormone deficiency. I have received 2 injections in each knee over the past 6 weeks. how many more injections can I have and in what interval. Since Feb 1992 I have given cortizone shots for my wrists (carpal Tunnel), my knees (bi-lateral arthroscopis surgery, my let shoulder (torn ratotor cuff), my lower lumbar, my elbows for tendonitis, and my heels for pain. My question is if cortizone shots have side effects through the years.

I received a cortisone shot into my lower back on Friday afternoon and on Saturday eveing I took a 5mg Vicodin. On Sunday I awoke with my skin tender and painful to the touch and overall body and skin achiness. Is this a side effect of mixing the two medications?
