i had my period but im spotting

i had sex about a week before my period, and my period was about 2 weeks ago now. it was shorter then usual and it was just different. since a couple of days ago i got spotting but its not red like blood its brown. im scared does this mean im pregnant? could this mean a miscarriage? please help me.
