CLL and chemotherapy

Three years ago I had a course of chemotherapy for CLL. My white blood count has now gone up above normal again and I have some swollen lymph nodes. My doctor says I may need another lot of chemo. How many times is this effective and does it get less effective the nmore times you have it?
